TechTeam
There will be a total of five TechTeam events at CUTC 2007. Please note that TechTeams design problems will be announced at the conference - this will make sure that all participants are given a fair start.
The currently confirmed TechTeam hosts are as follows (we are currently finalizing some TechTeams' design problem):
Lenovo
Tackle a unique social and cultural challenge using your technical knowledge and business savvy. Companies today are looking for engineers with the ability to combine their technical and business skills to solve real world problems. Our judges will include technology professionals and business leaders from Lenovo and Intel. Design the best solution and carry away your prize.
AMD
AMD is one of the largest semiconductor manufacturers on the planet, best known for its line of computer processors and graphics products. The AMD TechTeam will expose delegates to cutting-edge technologies being produced by the company, in what is likely to be a very interesting and exciting design competition.
Infusion/Microsoft
Infusion Development and its long time partner Microsoft have teamed up to bring to you a TechTeam challenge like none other. Set to educate and enlighten the bright minds at CUTC, Infusion will feature an Architecture Design Competition involving Microsoft´s emerging development technologies and platforms such as .NET 3.0, MOSS 2007 and Vista.
CBET
The TechTeam hosted by the Centre for Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology will be the first time that an elevator pitch competition will be held at the CUTC. One of the goals of the CUTC is to encourage innovation amongst our delegates, but every innovation needs to be presented well in order to succeed. This is where elevator pitches - short, 90 second presentations of new ideas - can play an important role. With a set of experienced judges, an interesting topic and plenty of student energy, this TechTeam has the potential to be a hallmark for future CUTCs.
Nortel
Nortel is a recognized leader in delivering communications capabilities that enhance the human experience, ignite and power global commerce, and secure and protect the world's most critical information. Nortel will bring to CUTC 2007 a TechTeam challenge that will involve students in creating an innovative solution in the company's sphere of business.
